The drive there took me through huge mountains on winding roads past pine forests and deserts and creeks. My uncle loves techno, so good music was playing. Me, my mom, and my uncle all chatted it up about ghosts and old towns and I listened as they relayed memories.
We went through Wickenburg, then stopped in Yarnell. I tell you. That place is beyond magical... It was SO peaceful! We walked through a wonderful old neighborhood. Flowers bloomed everywhere, the air was fresh and crisp, cats watched us fearlessly as we passed, and people smiled and said hello and asked how we were doing as we passed! That never happens in Scottsdale. Another good thing... If you stood still, took a deep breath, and just closed your eyes, all you heard was silence. An occasional bird. But other than that, Silence. It was wonderful! There was a bottle tied to a tree, and my mom told me the meaning of that... And a lady on her porch blasting music and singing along. No one laughed at her. No one sneered and talked about her. We just continued onward...
We got coffee and ice cream, then went to our hotel. My uncle dropped me and my mom off, and we got settled in. It was a cozy room... Cable, microwave, refrigorator, two big beds, a nightstand, a blowdryer, a phone, two chairs, and 7 lamps were included. It was also very clean and lovely. I brought everything I needed. My art supplies, my music, even my bike!!! ^w^
My uncle then picked us up and showed us all sorts of places in town. Old haunted victorian houses, lakes, good bike trails, cool shops and restraunts, and finally we got some chicken and went to find our fireworks spot! Now, everyone goes to Prescott for the 4th. So it was packed. But we found a great spot where we technically shouldn't have parked, but the security gaurd said "Whatever, it's fine." And we ate! The food wasn't amazing, but the fireworks WERE! We were only a mile away, and the moon was practically full, and the fireworks were amazing!!! Best of all, it was us three. My family. My blood kin. And we were happy. I've never been connected to my true family before this year. My uncle had a sort of a drinking problem before, but now he's just great.
After our moment on the overlook, we went around and looked at cool places to see tomorrow. We found a number of cool old graveyards, but mom insisted on going back to the hotel. I drew about three pictures this weekend. I was so inspired! But not by anything around.. Just the energy. It was crazy!
I took a shower and went to bed comfy, and only got about 5 hours before waking, sadly... But still! I went for a bike ride and found a really neat spot that smelled and felt wonderful! It was very cool, but not bad, horrible, shivering, deadly cool. Just... Cool enough to wear a jacket. And the air was fresh and crisp and sweet.
Then me and my mom got ready to check out of the hotel and go spend the last few hours in Prescott. We went to a bunch of cool old victorian homes, and my uncles place. We met his adorable cat, Ooga Booga. XD Then we saw some of my uncles art! He's a fabulous artist, by the way...
We went to a breakfast place next. I got a waffle and bacon... It didn't make me feel too good though. XD But despite my constant need to use the bathroom, we moved on! We checked out this cool metaphysical shop, where I bought a FREAKIN AWESOME leather-bound journal with horses engraved upon it. It can serve as a sketchbook, too! I also got my friend Hasuko a little something, along with her mom. >w<
Then we went around and explored a bunch of old places. A coffee shop, a beautiful creek, what was once the red-light disctrict, and an old haunted hotel where we took the ancient elevator. You could just feel the residual energy in that place. You could easily tell it was haunted.
Then we went to an old victorian house museum! It was cool, but we had to sneak around because we didn't pay the stupid five dollar fee. XD Then we went back to my uncle's house, well it's actually a tricked-out mobile home, but still, and I was accidentally given Rum! XD My uncle thought he was giving me water, but it was rum. I was nearly knocked flat on my ass!
We then went to the couple of cool graveyards from last night. Twas very interesting... Then we went home. T.T
I felt so good up there! I could breath perfectly, my body was completely relaxed, and I was happy. My mom and I bonded, and me and her bonded with my uncle! It was a total family experience. I loved it.
My uncle knows absolutely everything about Prescott, and the towns and mountains surrounding it. He doesn't hesitate to twll us everything, either. He's so cool! He likes techno, he is non judgemental, humorous, protective, active, and is actually trying to bond with me and mim. It's nice. ^^
Oh! And if me and my mom don't get money to go to sedona this summer, we're going to the white mountains before school starts!!!! I'm so excited!

Okay, in the prologue it is just some random teenage guy, so make him look however you like.
The main character is Kuniko. She is the werewolf that killed the guy at the beginning. She is about 5'3", and has short red hair similar to hinata from naruto's, if I could compare it to another anime character. She wears pretty fashionable clothing, not too girlsy though. You'll learn about her personality more in the story.
Avarias is the vampire that she falls in love with. (i'm warning you now, this IS a romance. No sexual content or anything, but if you didn't know already...)He is about 5'10" and has shoulder length, kind of emo-ish looking dark brown hair and startling blue eyes. He also wears glasses. He typically wears rather sophisticated clothing.
Those are the two mains, I'll tell you about the other characters as you progress.

This holy monstrosity
A child of difference,
of the dark, yet pure.
A being like I could only fortell
Let me scream my song of farewell
